What’s a Community Fridge, you ask…

 

Well, that’s a good question. A Community Fridge is not a fancy name for a food bank. It’s a place where we can make sure that any surplus food from local supermarkets and other nearby food outlets - which is destined for landfill - can be shared, meaning that fresh food is less likely to go to waste.

 

The Menston Community Fridge can be used by anyone, regardless of financial status. Think of us as a ‘yellow sticker’ store with a positive environmental heart, if you like, where our aim is to keep food waste to a minimum.

 

All we ask is that you respect this by bringing only one bag, and taking what you can definitely use before the food has to be discarded. We look forward to seeing you soon!
